If you sell N Scale, and you want exposure to the best, most loyal customers in the Scale, then you NEED to be at this convention. You have several opportunities to capture sales at this event.
- - Room Sales
The fact of the matter is, there are a lot of N Scalers wandering the halls at this event. You have the opportunity to be 'open' during the free sales hours, and you can highlight products during this time. Some folks choose to set up an entire hobby store in their room, but we are finding what works is targeted sale on a few items. Your call. There are two things that are not allowed. You may not be open during scheduled events (clinics not included). You may not rent a conference room and set up a sales venture. Violation of either of these will find you banned from the Swaparama and the Public Show, and your table deposits will be forfeited. We are all about the spirit of fair play, and gaining an unfair advantage is not right. Clever, sure, but not fair. Please respect this.
- - Swaparama
You may order as many tables as you want, space permitting. This event is for convention attendees only, and is a great time to do full sales with a rah-rah component. If you have any special promotions for your best customers, now is the time to share it. Mostly, though, this event is all about selling. And these attendees want to buy.
- - The Public Show
This is two days that will draw from all over Southern California from LA, to El Centro, the Model Railroad community will be in attendence. This will be a multiscale show with an emphasis on N Scale. We will also be promoting the hobby of model railroading, so there will be a large local family component, so don't forget the Thomas!
- - Sponsorship
Your impression will last a lot longer if you are a sponsor,. There are several levels of sponsorship from raffle prizes to program sponsorship to event title sponsorship. The one thing for sure- if you choose to be a sponsor, everyone in attendance will remember you long after the event, as you will be noted and thanked in the magazine following. Our folks will be contacting you soon for those opportunities.
We think this entire convention is a great opportunity for you. We are not scheduling you to be 'working' while there are important events, so you will get the opportunity to meet your customers, and those you would like to have as customers. We encourage you to participate in the events, as this 'connection' can be the most valuable thing you get at the convention. Once people find out you are human, they tend to understand far more about the difficulties of your business. This connection and understanding results in loyalty, something that is far too scarce these days.
